Sir Alex Ferguson spoke to Vassos Alexander the morning after the passing of Kevin Keegan to pay tribute to the former Newcastle United, Liverpool, Southampton and Hamburg player.

The two were the figureheads of one of the most tightly contested Premier League title races back in 1995, when Ferguson's Manchester United and Keegan's Newcastle were battling down to the wire, before both eventually fell short to Blackburn Rovers.

One of 'King Kev's' most memorable moments as a player or manager was an interview he gave to Sky Sports in the run-in that season, telling a reporter that 'I'd love it if we beat them'. Just a few weeks after the season, neither manager having claimed top spot, there was a chance encounter between them in a pub near Wentworth Golf Club. A couple of drinks and a piano were all that was required to put aside any allegiances.
